I would like to use the German language pack, but still not be forced to manually switch between languages if I want to add a new mail account. I would also like to be able to configure the different mail accounts individually, and would prefer to have the German translation appear under General. I am at the end of my tether and would appreciate any help. I would really prefer to stay with Thunderbird and not switch to another program.
I still do not know why, but I have several websites linked through Newsgator which do not show up in the Thunderbird address box. I would like to use both the address field and the menu to quickly see which links are associated with which email accounts. Can anyone help me or tell me if this is a known issue? Thanks
Everything worked wonderfully in the first version of the release and then… and then… every one of my files disappeared from Thunderbird and was replaced by a default profile. I tried reinstalling the profile via the wizard and “update” option in the menu, but that didn’t help. I reinstalled the program, de-installed the Thunderbird profile, de-installed it again, pulled the Thunderbird profile out of the Tb preferences folder (all three before and after the recent release). No success. I am using Mac OS X 10.8.2.
I just installed TB ReRelease Beta (v105) from the pkg file and all was working fine until I tried to set up Apple Mail to sync. Thunderbird now shuts down with the “program resource busy” error. It has been doing this for a couple of hours now and I can’t find anything wrong with the process of sending the setup information to Apple.

Can you try updating to an earlier version of Thunderbird? If you can’t get the same problem with an earlier version of Thunderbird, then it may be something wrong with your local CA or with your SSL certificate configuration. I assume you are referring to the new “no folders” issue. This is a change in one of the add-ons included in the latest Thunderbird release and is scheduled to be rolled out to Thunderbird users in late May. The add-on would search all folders for emails and move them to a “inbox-like” folder.
I have the same problem. In order to avoid crashing when there is no folder, a remote server returns a non zero status when there are no folders. From my.eml files, it looks like they are not incomplete by any stretch of the imagination. And, without the folder, Thunderbird just crashes. The same issue exists with outlook. You can recreate the non zero status on the folder by importing an incomplete.eml file to the folder. The message “Folders count 0” appears in the status bar.
Here is the same bug I was describing in the prev. comment – I can see everything in my mailbox with folder metadata, but if a folder isn’t there, and the folder count is 0, Thunderbird will crash. I got Thunderbird in a VM and just opened a folder with 7,000+ messages.
